How much do UK patients really save in Turkey?

UK patients save an average of 65–70% on private dental treatment in Turkey in 2026. Across the 13 treatments measured in this report the mean saving is 72%. A single dental implant costs about £850 in Turkey versus £2,400 in the UK; All-on-4 is around £6,000 per arch versus £18,000; and a full set of veneers is roughly £4,500 versus £16,000. The biggest savings are on high-value implant and cosmetic work. Even after adding return flights (~£250) and a week's hotel (~£420), a patient travelling for All-on-4 spends about £7,030 all-in versus £18,000 in the UK — a net saving near £11,150. The savings reflect Turkey's lower cost of living and domestic lab supply, not lower-grade materials: accredited clinics such as Taki Dent use the same Straumann, Nobel Biocare, E-max and zirconia brands as UK practices.

Methodology: how we gathered the prices

Credible numbers need a transparent method, so here is exactly how this report was built. Prices were compiled between 1 May and 12 June 2026 and are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP).

  • Turkey figures reflect published, all-inclusive package pricing at accredited dental clinics in Antalya — the most popular destination for UK patients — including our expert data source, Taki Dent (JCI-accredited, 9.8/10). Where clinics quote in euros or US dollars, figures were converted to GBP at the prevailing June 2026 rate.
  • UK figures reflect published private-practice fee guides for the equivalent treatment, using the same materials and brands (e.g. Straumann implants, E-max and zirconia ceramics). NHS pricing is excluded because most of these cosmetic and implant treatments are not routinely available on the NHS.
  • Like-for-like comparison. Each row compares the same clinical procedure with the same restorative material. Turkey package prices typically already include consultation, CBCT scans, airport transfers and (often) hotel; UK figures are treatment-only, so the real-world gap is usually wider, not narrower.
  • Ranges, not single numbers. Every treatment shows a low, average and high figure to reflect genuine variation between clinics, brands and case complexity. Percentage savings are calculated from the average column.
  • Currency & date stamp. All prices are GBP as at June 2026. Exchange rates and clinic pricing change; treat the figures as a 2026 snapshot, not a permanent guarantee.

Dental implants: Turkey vs UK

Implants are where the savings are largest in absolute terms. A single implant including the crown costs about £600–£1,100 in Turkey versus £2,000–£2,800 in the UK — a saving of roughly 65%. For full-arch work the gap runs into five figures: All-on-4 saves about £12,000 per arch, All-on-6 about £15,750, and a full-mouth (both arches) reconstruction about £23,500. Accredited Turkish clinics fit the same Straumann and Nobel Biocare systems used in the UK, with the same manufacturer warranties.

Veneers and the Hollywood smile: Turkey vs UK

Cosmetic work shows the highest percentage savings. A single porcelain veneer is about £150–£300 in Turkey versus £600–£1,000 in the UK; premium E-max veneers are £200–£350 versus £800–£1,200. Scaled up, a full Hollywood smile of 20 veneers costs roughly £3,000–£6,000 in Turkey versus £12,000–£20,000 in the UK, and a complete smile design (which may combine veneers, crowns and whitening) is £3,500–£8,000 versus £14,000–£28,000. This single category is why so many UK patients first consider Turkey.

Crowns, root canals and whitening: Turkey vs UK

Restorative and routine work also saves money, though the absolute difference is smaller. A zirconia crown is about £130–£250 in Turkey versus £700–£1,200 in the UK; a PFM crown £100–£190 versus £500–£900; a root canal £70–£150 versus £400–£1,000; and in-clinic whitening £100–£200 versus £300–£700. On their own these smaller treatments rarely justify a dedicated trip, but they add up quickly when bundled into a larger smile-makeover plan.

Why is dental treatment so much cheaper in Turkey?

Turkish dental prices are lower mainly because of a lower cost of living, a domestic dental-lab supply chain, a favourable exchange rate for sterling, and high clinic volumes — not because of lower-grade materials. The main drivers are:

  • Cost of living and overheads. Staff salaries, clinic premises, utilities and administrative costs are substantially lower in Turkey than in the UK, and that flows straight through to the price.
  • The "no NHS subsidy" gap. In the UK, cosmetic and most implant work is private and unsubsidised, so patients pay the full premium-market rate. Turkey's private market is simply priced against a lower local cost base.
  • In-house and domestic dental labs. Many top Turkish clinics run their own labs or use local ones, cutting out the lab mark-up that inflates UK crown and veneer prices.
  • Exchange rate. A strong pound against the Turkish lira stretches a UK patient's budget further.
  • Volume. High patient throughput at established clinics spreads the fixed cost of CBCT scanners, CAD/CAM mills and digital smile-design technology across more cases.

Crucially, accredited clinics buy the same global brands — Straumann, Nobel Biocare, E-max, premium zirconia — as UK practices. The lower price reflects local economics, not a downgrade in quality.

The real total: treatment + flights + hotel

Headline treatment savings only matter if they survive the cost of travel. They comfortably do. Here is a worked, all-in example for a UK patient travelling to Antalya for All-on-4 (one arch):

Cost item Turkey trip UK (treatment only)
All-on-4 treatment (one arch)£6,000£18,000
Return flights (UK–Antalya)£250
Hotel (7 nights)£420
Airport transfersIncluded
Meals & incidentals£180
All-in total£7,030£18,000
Net saving vs UK£10,970

Even on a conservative trip budget, a UK patient travelling for All-on-4 spends around £7,030 all-in versus £18,000 in the UK — a net saving close to £10,970. Many patients also turn the trip into a short Mediterranean break at no extra dental cost.

Is cheaper dental treatment in Turkey still safe?

Yes — at an accredited clinic, a lower price does not mean a lower standard. The price gap is driven by economics, not by cutting clinical corners. JCI-accredited clinics such as Taki Dent meet international standards equivalent to the UK, are led by named specialists, and back treatment with written guarantees. Safety depends on how you choose a clinic, not on whether it is cheaper. For a full breakdown of accreditation, GDC guidance and red flags, see our companion guide on whether dental tourism is safe, and our own Turkey dental safety guide.

How to verify a Turkish dental clinic before you book

The savings are only worth it if the clinic is genuinely accredited. Before paying a deposit, check that the clinic:

  • Holds recognised accreditation (JCI and/or ISO) you can independently verify.
  • Names its specialists publicly — e.g. Specialist Prosthodontist Dr. Sadık Taki — with verifiable qualifications.
  • States the implant and ceramic brands used (Straumann, Nobel Biocare, E-max, zirconia) and provides a written, time-stamped guarantee.
  • Gives a clear, itemised quote in GBP showing exactly what is and is not included.
  • Offers structured UK-patient aftercare that can be coordinated with your own UK dentist.

The General Dental Council (GDC) advises UK patients to verify a clinic's accreditation and named specialists before travelling, and to agree aftercare arrangements in advance.

What the savings don't include — an honest note

To keep this report credible, here is what the headline percentages deliberately do not capture:

  • Your time and travel effort. A trip means time off work and at least a few days abroad; some complex cases need two visits a few months apart.
  • Aftercare logistics. If an adjustment is needed later, follow-up may require a return trip or coordination with a UK dentist who will charge their own fees.
  • Currency movement. Prices quoted in lira or euros can shift between quote and treatment; lock in GBP where possible.
  • Travel insurance and contingencies. Budget for appropriate travel insurance and a small contingency for extra nights.
  • "Too good to be true" quotes. Prices well below the Turkey ranges in this report can signal an unaccredited clinic or undisclosed extras — treat them with caution, not excitement.

Factor these in and the savings remain very large — but they are savings on a real trip, not a free lunch.
